Three point lighting

During our time in the studio we had a chance to have a look at three point lighting, especially within visual media such as video, film, theatre, still photography and in some cases computer generated imagery,  to create optimal lighting for a studio. This session we used it for still photography

Arry lighting 

Set up 1 
Power usage x3: 900 watts 
brightness of lights: very dull as it had the gels on it to create the change of colour 
Coverage (focus): average focus
Ease of use: easy to set up, simple to set focus ring 
health and safety: issue with cables as a tripping hazard, barn doors getting hot


Set up 2 
Power usage x3: 900 watts 
brightness of lights: bright
Coverage (focus): average focus
Ease of use: easy to set up, simple to set focus ring 
health and safety: issue with cables as a tripping hazard, barn doors getting hot 

Redheads 

Set up 3
Power usage x3: 2400 watts 
brightness of lights: Very bright
Coverage (focus): Very wide 
Ease of use: Simple with a focus ring 
health and safety Large heavy lights hard to move, can become extremely hot and cables

Dedos  

Set up 4 
Power usage x3: 450 watts 
brightness of lights:
Coverage (focus): Very low 
Ease of use: Light and simple 
health and safety : Cables create a tripping hazard
